Fire Prevention and Education

In addition to maintaining their training requirements, Fire Department volunteers are also involved in education and fire prevention.  Their involvement includes annual trade show exhibits, involvement at the Stormont County Fair, the Antique Car Show, Smoke/CO Alarm Program, Fire Extinguisher Program, Public Education Program for seniors, as well as fire prevention coloring contest and fire safety knowledge with the local schools and day care centers.

South Stormont Fire and Rescue is proud to present the Home Safe Home Program. 

Residents may have their home inspected by South Stormont Fire and Rescue free of charge.  This will help homeowners identify and correct any hazards and ensure all Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms are working properly.  If you are interested in booking an appointment for your home to be inspected, call the Township office at 613-534-8889.

Carefor Health & Community Services Clients

The Township of South Stormont Emergency Service, in cooperation with South Stormont Seniors' Support Services, is offering free fire prevention home inspections for Carefor Health & Community Services Clients. If you are interested in having your home inspected, call the Township office at 613-534-8889.

Green lights - What do they mean?

A vehicle with a flashing green light on the dash indicates that a volunteer firefighter is responding to an emergency call.  Please be courteous and yield the right-of-way.
