Cassie Seguin is a 16 year old Rothwell-Osnabruck student whose lifelong dream is to be the goaltender for Team Canada - and this summer, she made a major step toward her goal. Cassie was one of six goalies from across Canada invited to attend a Team Canada Under -18 camp in Calgary, where she won a spot on the team that will play the U.S. in a three game exhibition series in Lake Placid in August. She also attended the final selection camp for the Ontario under-18 team, but hasn't heard whether she's made the club.

This past season Cassie played in Ottawa for the Junior Capitols of the Provincial Women's Hockey League, a team coached by her dad Steve. The Capitols peaked in the playoffs and won the silver medal, thanks largely to Cassie's 1.23 goals-against -average and .961 save percentage. In the championship game, she made 40 saves and was named Ottawa's most valuable player in a 2-1 overtime loss.

Cassie intends to play with the Capitals again this season while her hockey opportunities develop. An excellent student, she's on the radar of several NCAA Division 1 schools and could be playing stateside after next season.
