Ashley Hodkinson started playing basketball with the Cornwall Lions program, which helped form the foundation for a strong high school career at St. Joe's.

Her impact was felt immediately, as she received the school's MVP Award for Girls' Midget basketball. The following year, Ashley was voted Most Improved Player for Girls' Junior basketball. She was also voted MVP of the Upper Canada Ice tournament at R/O.

During her high school tenure, St. Joe's teams were SD&G Junior AA Champions in 2006, and SD&G Senior AA Champions in '07 and '08.
