Long Sault Skating Club (LSSC):

For information regarding all Skate Canada programs including Learn to Skate, Power Skating, and Figure Skating please contact Carolin Antoine at 613-534-8119. All programs start the week of January 9, 2012.

OUTDOOR SKATING RINKS:

South Stormont is proud to be working with various volunteer groups in the operation of our community outdoor rinks. Weather and volunteers permitting, skating rinks will be available in:

  • Newington (Fairground Drive)
  • Ingleside (Hoople Street)
  • Ingleside (Farran Park)
  • Long Sault (Johnson Cresent)NEW!
  • Moulinette Island (Sunset Drive)
  • Lakeview Heights (Columbia Avenue)
  • St.Andrews West (Highway 138)

SEAWAY FITNESS PROGRAMS

Bootcamp: Mondays 6:00 p.m., Wednesdays 7:00 p.m. and/or 8:00 p.m.
Zumba: Mondays 8:00 p.m. or Thursdays 7:00 p.m.
Pilates: Mondays and Thursdays 7:00 p.m.
Yoga: Thursdays 8:00 p.m.
Senior Fit: Mondays and Wednesdays 10:15 a.m.

Girl Guides of Canada (all ages):

Girl Guides of Canada meetings are held in Long Sault every Wednesday night. For more information please contact Donna at 613-534-2508.

Cornwall Aquatic Swimming Programs

Ontario Early Years

Early Years Centres provide leadership by supporting parents and our communities in raising preschool children and ensuring they reach their full potential.

Friends of the Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary

Friends of the Sanctuary invite everyone to join them for their Winter Weekends and Moonlight Events being held from January 7 to March 31. For more information on these events or joining the group please visit their new website at www.friendsofthesanctuary.org

Program Information

LANCER COMMUNITY CENTRE (R-O School, Ingleside):
Adult Co-Ed Badminton:

This 15 week recreational badminton program will take place every Thursday evening from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. starting on January 12. Cost for participants is $40.00 for the session or $5.00 per night.

SOUTH STORMONT SPORTS HALL OF FAME:

Nominations for induction to the Hall of Fame are now being accepted. Forms are available at the Long Sault Arena and can be downloaded at the official Hall of Fame website at www.southstormont.ca/halloffame. For more information please contact 613-534-2419.

SOUTH STORMONT VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR:

The Volunteer Appreciation Committee is seeking nominations for the prestigious 2011 Fran Laflamme Volunteer of the Year Award. Nomination forms are available at the Long Sault Arena, Town Hall, and can be downloaded from the Township website at www.southstormont.ca. Deadline for nominations is February 1, 2012.

For the purpose of this award a volunteer is recognized as an individual that willingly volunteers their time and efforts to provide support to the municipal Corporation and its citizens as a whole. The South Stormont Volunteer Recognition Program does not recognize individuals for personal or family related successes or professional achievements.

SOUTH STORMONT COMMUNITY HALL (Municipal Office - Long Sault)

This new hall holds up to 245 people and offers a full kitchen, walk-in cooler, bar area, coat check room, tables, chairs, stage, sound system, and washrooms.
