The Township Office will close to the public when the Eastern Ontario Health Unit region moves back to the “Red – Control” zone beginning Monday, March 29th, 2021.

All staff will be available by telephone and email, and we encourage residents to use the online services from southstormont.ca where possible.

With the upcoming tax due date – March 31 – we are reminding residents the payment options are available. As residents will not be permitted to enter the Township Office, the following payment options are available to pay your tax bills:

  • Register for pre-authorized payments by filling out the form on our Pre-Authorized Payment Page.
  • You can pay by telephone, internet or personal banking through participating financial institutions. In most cases, 3 business days are needed for processing.
  • You can pay at any local bank branch, provided you have the payment stub from your tax bill (bottom of the tax bill).
  • You can drop off a cheque to the Township’s “after hours” mailbox located outside of the main office doors. Please include the bottom portion of your tax bill with your payment to ensure payment is properly applied.
  • Cheques can be mailed to:
    • Township of South Stormont
      PO Box 84
      Long Sault, ON
      K0C 1P0

Interest and Penalties

After a pause on penalties and interest on outstanding tax and water/wastewater bill payments since March of 2020, penalties and interest are reinstated effective April 1, 2021.
