Recreational fire means the burning of clean, dry, seasoned firewood for cooking, heating, enjoyment or similar purposes.
A Cooking/Recreation Fire does not require a Open Air Burn Permit but must follow the following conditions:
- Only have a fire between 8:00 a.m. and midnight.
- Only use a fire container that is made from non-combustible material.
- Only burn a volume of combustible material less then 46cm long by 46cm high.
- Must contain the fire within the container at all times.
- The container must be at least 5 meters from any building, structure, property line, tree, hedge, fence, roadway, overhead wire or other combustible article.
- The container must be on a non-combustible surface extending beyond the unit to a dimension equal to the height of the Outdoor fire container.
