Community Clean Up Week Returns April 18-25!

Help Make South Stormont Shine This Spring!

After a long winter, it is time to freshen things up. Community Clean-Up Week runs from April 19 to 25, 2026, and residents are invited to pitch in and help make South Stormont shine.

Each year, we are inspired by individuals, families, and groups who take the initiative to clean up roadsides, parks, trails, and neighbourhood spaces. To say thank you, the South Stormont Environmental Action Committee is offering support, prizes, and a little friendly competition.

How to Take Part

• Complete a clean-up anywhere in the community during Clean-Up Week.
• Free gloves and garbage bags are available at the Township Office during business hours, while supplies last.
• Once finished, leave filled bags safely off the road at the nearest intersection and contact the Infrastructure Services to arrange pickup.
• Please work safely and watch for traffic and potential hazards.

Enter the Community Clean-Up Contest

Everyone who participates can enter the Community Clean-Up Contest. After your clean-up, use the link below to tell us where you collected waste. You will be entered to win one of three prizes:

• A tree to plant on your property
• A compost bin
• A home garden gift basket

Each prize includes a Township-branded water bottle.

Grab a bag, get outside, and help make South Stormont clean, green, and beautiful this spring. We cannot wait to see our community shine.

Community Clean-Up Week Kick Off Event

Join us for a fun kickoff event at Lost Villages Brewery on Saturday, April 18, starting at 11:00 a.m.
Pick up a designated waste bag at the brewery, gather waste from anywhere in South Stormont, and return with a full bag to receive a free drink, courtesy of Lost Villages Brewery.

South Stormont Fire and Rescue will be onsite with a fire truck, kids’ giveaways, and safety tips for the whole family. The Environmental Action Committee will also be there to share information about upcoming projects like the Community Garden and Rain Barrel Program.
