Office Closure - National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Township of South Stormont is committed to truth, reconciliation, and ongoing learning. In observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our office will be closed on Tuesday, September 30. There will be NO CHANGES to garbage and recycling collection due to the closure.
Throughout September, we have raised the "Every Child Matters" flag in honour of residential school survivors, their families, and the children who never came home. This visual tribute is a reminder of our shared responsibility to listen, learn, and act.
Throughout the week, staff are also provided the opportunity to participate in lunch and learn sessions to better understand the ongoing legacy of the Residential School System in our country.
We encourage those in our community to take part in upcoming opportunities to learn, explore and immerse yourself in Indigenous cultures. Here are a few opportunities available:

📚Join SDG Library's September reading challenge, featuring Indigenous authors: https://loom.ly/NWqeQoI
🟠Attend the annual Orange Shirt Day on Tuesday, September 30th at Lamoureux Park, Cornwall from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
