Notice of Public Consultation Centre - Long Sault Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Environmental Assessment

The Township recently completed the Long Sault/Ingleside Regional Master Servicing Plan which identified upgrades to linear infrastructure as well as an expansion of the Long Sault Regional Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Long Sault Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The expansion of the Long Sault Regional WTP is well underway which will service both Long Sault and Ingleside well into the future. The next step is to initiate the environmental assessment process to complete the study requirements for the expansion of the Long Sault WWTP.

The project is being planned to follow the Schedule C process in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment. As such, extensive public and technical agency consultation will play a key role in developing the study recommendations.

The first Public Consultation Centre (PCC) is being scheduled to present general alternatives being considered to expand the capacity of the Long Sault WWTP. The PCC will be held as an informal “Open House” with materials pertaining to the study on display and members of the project team on hand to answer questions and discuss issues related to the project.
