Long Sault Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion

In 2024, the Township completed a Master Servicing Plan for Long Sault and Ingleside to ensure thoughtful, proactive planning that will guide Township capital investment in areas such as water, wastewater, stormwater management and road infrastructure to support expected growth projections.

The Master Servicing Plan highlighted the need for enhanced wastewater treatment capacity to support the growth of Long Sault into the future. The Plan recommended enhancements to the Long Sault Wastewater Treatment Facility within the next 20-year period.

In order to thoughtfully plan this future project, the Township is first conducting the legislatively required Municipal Class Environmental Assessment. The initial phase of this process is to consider options that could achieve the increased capacity of wastewater servicing in Long Sault.

Public Consultation Centre for Long Sault Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Environmental Assessment

An initial Public Consultation Centre for the Environmental Assessment for this project has been scheduled  where residents and stakeholders can review options being considered, potential location options, and speak with the project team to learn more about the project and the need for this future investment.

While some options are more feasible and advantageous, the Environmental Assessment process reviews all options for consideration.

The Public Consultation Centre will follow an informal "Open House" format, where materials will be on display and conversations with the project team can take place.

We encourage residents and stakeholders to participate in this initial consultation phase and stay-up-to-date on this long-term planning project on this page.
