Notice of Study Commencement - Long Sault Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Environmental Assessment

Project Overview

The Township recently completed the Long Sault/Ingleside Regional Master Servicing Plan which identified upgrades to linear infrastructure as well as an expansion of the Long Sault Regional Water Treatment Plant and Long Sault Wastewater Treatment Plant. The expansion of the Long Sault Regional WTP is well underway which will service both Long Sault and Ingleside well into the future. The next step is to initiate the environmental assessment process to complete the study requirements for the expansion of the Long Sault WWTP.

The project is being planned following the Schedule C process in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment. For further information on the project, please contact:

Public, Indigenous Community and stakeholder input and comment are invited, for incorporation into the planning and design of this project and will be received until September 30, 2026. Subject to the identification of a preferred plan to expand the capacity of the wastewater treatment plant, and the receipt of necessary approvals, the Town of South Stormont intends to proceed with this project in the next five years.
