Township of South Stormont Appoints Interim CAO

At the Regular Council Meeting of April 22, 2026, Council of the Township of South Stormont appointed Mr. Karl Doyle as Interim CAO, effective April 22, 2026 to February 28, 2027. At the culmination of this period, Council will review the appointment and determine appropriate next steps. 

Mr. Doyle brings extensive experience in municipal senior leadership to this new role, including the last 5 years as the Director of Development Services at the Township of South Stormont. 

“We’re excited to welcome Karl as the Interim CAO for the Township,” said Mayor Bryan McGillis. “Karl has been instrumental in the success of our Township, showing exceptional leadership capabilities and having an excellent working relationship with our Council and Staff teams.”

Doyle brings a level of stability to the administrative leadership role, having played key roles in many of the Township’s recent key initiatives, such as the Long Sault Inland Port Development in Long Sault, waterfront negotiations with the St. Lawrence Parks Commission, area development strategies for parcels in Ingleside and Rosedale Terrace, amongst others.
