Seaway Karate - Long Sault

Authentic karate with black belts who have competed and coached at the international level and are registered in Japan.

Non-resident Note: Non-residents must wait until Friday, August 23 at 9:00 a.m. to register for pickleball. If a non-resident registers ahead of this day, they will be withdrawn and receive a refund less a $15 administration fee.

Drop-in Note: Drop-ins are welcome to start 10 minutes after the scheduled play time to ensure registered players have had a chance to arrive. You will have to sign in on a waiver each time if you are dropping in but you do not register online.

Waitlist Note: If there are significant waitlists of residents, people who have registered for more than 2 sessions in the fall or more than 2 sessions in the winter will be asked to drop one to allow for more access to this game in our community.

South Stormont Pickleball is for everyone! Unless otherwise listed, you will find a mix of skill levels from beginner to advanced. If you have never played pickleball, it is recommended that you read up on/watch some videos to understand the basics to help you get started.

Karen Bryan, certified coach and passionate pickleballer, has put together the below Learn to Play and Drill Club sessions. 

Learn to Play

This session is designed for adults aged 18 and over who are new to pickleball and would like to learn the fundamentals in a welcoming and supportive environment. The program is ideal for anyone looking to gain the basic skills and confidence needed to participate in recreational drop‑in pickleball, while having fun and staying active.

Participants will be introduced to:

  • Paddle grips
  • Rallying and volleying
  • Groundstrokes
  • Serves and returns
  • Basic rules and scoring

A flexible, skill-based format where players compete individually (not as fixed partners) in rotating groups, moving up or down a ranked list based on weekly points, ensuring they consistently play against similarly skilled opponents.  A number system will be used as opposed to posting names. This will be fun yet competitive way to engage in Pickleball and meet new Pickleball friends.  Any and all levels of pickleball players are welcome to participate!

***If you cannot make a scheduled day, please find a substitute. We must have sixteen participants present in order to run the ladder system.***

Walking Group takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m..

The program will begin November 3rd, 2025 and end on March 30, 2026.

  • Indoor shoes (that have not been used outside) are mandatory to keep the floors clean and safe
  • If school buses are cancelled or schools are closed, the gymnasium is not available for use and the program is cancelled for that day
  • Participants may enter 15 minutes prior to their activity and exit within 15 minutes after their activity.

Online registration for fall and winter badminton opens August 18 at 9:00 a.m.! It is $60 for each session or $5 to drop in each week.

Outdoor Bootcamp

This workout builds cardio and strength and burns calories for a lean body. Indoors on cold rainy days and outdoors on sunny ones.  The music will move you and your coach will inspire you!  Perfect for all ages and abilities!

SunShiners Social Club – Chair Yoga

This inclusive program is adapted to support individuals living with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities, as well as their caregivers, while remaining open to everyone. Led by certified yoga instructor Karyn Hart of Glowing Hart Yoga, Moonlight Chair Yoga is designed to reduce stress and anxiety, strengthen muscles and joints, improve balance, boost cardiovascular health, and enhance sleep quality. Participants are welcomed into a calming and supportive wellness experience that encourages relaxation, connection, and overall well‑being.
