Notice Of Public Meeting Z 2026 03

Chase Meadows Phase 7 Draft Plan

What is being proposed?

The application, known as Zoning By-Law Amendment Z-2026-03, proposes to update the zoning on lands within the Chase Meadows Phase 7 subdivision to allow for a mix of housing types in a fully serviced urban area.

The zoning change would allow the development of:

  • Single detached dwellings
  • Semi-detached dwellings
  • Rowhouses
  • A future apartment building

The lands are currently zoned for residential and open space uses and would be rezoned to reflect the planned layout and housing types within this phase of the subdivision.

Why is this zoning change needed?

The proposed zoning would:

  • Support a range of housing options and densities;
  • Use municipally serviced lands efficiently within the urban settlement area of Long Sault; and
  • Satisfy a condition of draft plan approval for the subdivision.

Part of the amendment also includes a site-specific setback for lots adjacent to an existing pipeline easement.

A holding (“-h”) symbol will remain on the lands, meaning development cannot occur until municipal services are available through subdivision construction.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about the proposal and provide input. Township staff will be available to explain the application and answer questions.
