South Stormont – At the Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Council approved a tender bid to build the new Station 2 Fire Hall in Ingleside. The Township received nine (9) compliant bids for the Station 2 construction and awarded the tender to Robert J. Bourgon Construction in the amount of $4,294,263.00.

Major Military Exercise Coming to SDG Counties and Cornwall Area

The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) will conduct an emergency response exercise with local government and partner agencies in the Cornwall and United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG Counties) areas on the weekend of April 25-27, 2025.

Boil Water Advisory LIFTED - Long Sault, Ingleside and Osnabruck Centre

The Township of South Stormont would like to inform residents that the Eastern Ontario Health Unit has lifted the boil water advisory that was issued on March 17, 2025 for Long Sault, Ingleside and Osnabruck Centre.
Samples indicate that the water is potable and meets all of the quality standards for drinking water.
Staff will be going door-to-door with notices to all those affected by the advisory.

2025 Half-Load Restrictions Begin

Half-load season in our region will come into effect on Friday, March 14. This applies to all Township roads and SDG Counties roads, as well as all other local municipal roads.
SDG Counties and its partners among local municipalities and the City of Cornwall will be limiting the weight of materials to five tonnes per axle on the weaker roads located throughout the region.
