At the Wednesday, July 13th Regular Council Meeting, Council received and the audit results and DRAFT 2021 Township Financial Statements from auditors MNP LLP. 

Auditors presented their audit findings including improved financial processes, addition of new financial administration policies, and a financial surplus of $1.8M in operating and capital expenditures. This surplus is largely due to savings in materials, wages and capital works not completed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Township also saw revenues increase by approximately $600,000. 

Water and wastewater operations and capital for 2021 resulted in a $1.1M surplus, due in part to changes in rates as well as transfers to reserves for future capital works projects.
