The Township of South Stormont now offers Lifesaving Society swimming lessons. The equivalencies are listed in each course description under pre-requisites but you may also view the equivalency chart prior to signing in to make your registration process smoother.

 Swimming Lesson Information

Online registration is required for all swimming lessons. South Stormont Residents can register online as of Monday, May 26 and non-residents may register as of Monday, June 2.

Lessons will run Monday-Friday for two weeks at a time for 30-60 minutes depending on the level being completed. Please review the comparison document before registering if you are not familiar with the Lifesaving Society lessons.

Lessons Offered:

  • Parent and Tot 1 - 3 for ages 4 months to 3 years old
  • Preschool 1 - 5 for ages 3 to 5
  • Swimmer 1 - 6 for ages 6 and up
  • Rookie and Ranger/Star Patrol to continue to develop strong swimming and prepare for Bronze certifications

Pre-school, Swimmer, and Patrol sessions will be $75.

Private lessons will still be available upon request for $150.

Session 1 - June 30 through July 11
Session 2 - July 14 through July 25
Session 3 - July 28 through August 8
Session 4 - August 11 through August 22
Session 5 - Monday Evenings June 16 to August 18
Session 6 - Saturdays June 21 to August 23
Lifeguarding Courses

Online registration is required for all swimming lessons. South Stormont Residents can register online as of Monday, May 26 and non-residents may register as of Monday, June 2.

The Township of South Stormont will once again offer Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross training through the Lifesaving Society. The course will run Monday-Friday for two weeks at a time.

Each course is $165 ($110 for the course and $55 for the manual)

Bronze Medallion Session 1 - June 30 through July 11
Bronze Cross Session 1 - July 14 through July 25
Bronze Medallion Session 2 - July 28 through August 8
Bronze Cross Session 2 - August 11 through August 22
Speed Swim Team

Online registration is required for all swimming lessons. South Stormont Residents can register online as of Monday, May 26 and non-residents may register as of Monday, June 2.

The Stingray Swim Team is back for 2025. Participants must be at least 6 years of age. Registration will be $60 per child and will include a team shirt, two away swim meets and a swim meet at our home pool.

Tuesday/Thursday Group: Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Monday/Wednesday Group: Practices will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Register online as of May 26 (South Stormont Residents) or June 2 (non-residents) before the June 21 deadline! There are limited spaces available and spaces may fill up before the deadline.
 Public Swim and Lane Swim Information

Public Swimming Start Dates and Times for 2024 (2025 schedule to be determined)

Public and Lane Swim Fees are as follows:

  • Family Passes (2 cohabitating adults and their dependent children) $115
  • Individual Passes $35
  • Daily Rate $4

Monday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Friday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Lane Swim Times:

Monday 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.
Wednesday 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.
Friday 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.
 Pool Rentals 

Do you want to rent the pool for a birthday party or family gathering? The pool will have availability for rentals from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays in July and August. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department to inquire about pool availability or request to rent this facility

Cost: $75 per hour, includes lifeguards
