Fire Safety Inspections
In addition to maintaining their training requirements, Fire Department volunteers are also involved in education and fire prevention. Their involvement includes annual trade show exhibits, the Stormont County Fair, Canada Day Celebrations, Annual Raisin Region Canoe Race and the Smoke/CO Alarm Program.
Residents may have their home inspected by the Fire Prevention Officer free of charge. This will help homeowners identify and correct any hazards and ensure all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are working properly. Request a Home Safe Home inspection.
Every year, South Stormont Fire and Rescue performs a door to door campaign to ensure smoke and CO alarm compliance in the home. This is a strictly voluntary program and no fines or charges are issued during this campaign. Data collected helps us focus on problem areas and makes sure every home in South Stormont is properly protected.
